Although interstate compacts have existed since the founding of the United States, we recognize a compact for Emergency Medical Services personnel is something new for the nation and the profession. To help answer your questions and to raise awareness, the Commission - in collaboration with the National Association of State EMS Officials and the National Registry of EMTs - has employed Dan Manz as the Compact Educator.
Mr. Manz started his EMS career in the 1970's at the University of Vermont. After college, he became the Director of the Vermont Office of EMS, where he served in that role for 25 years. He has been active in shaping national EMS policy, leadership, and practice for nearly four decades.
